Scope and operator
This Cookie Policy applies to the public pages delivered from https://bitgowallet.com. bitgo is the brand displayed on the website. Questions about the first-party technologies described here may be sent to privacy@bitgowallet.com; the responsible legal entity is the entity identified in an applicable corporate, contractual or privacy notice.
Authenticated products, client portals, mobile applications, onboarding flows and third-party services may use different technologies under separate notices. Those notices govern where they expressly apply.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small data file placed on a device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, software development kits, device identifiers and scripts that read or write information on a device.
- Session technologies normally expire when the browser session ends.
- Persistent technologies remain until their stated expiry, until replaced or until you clear them.
- First-party technologies are controlled by the site you visit; third-party technologies are controlled by another provider.
Legal framework and consent
In the EEA, United Kingdom and other jurisdictions with similar rules, storing or accessing information on a device generally requires consent unless the technology is strictly necessary to provide a service you requested. Any related processing of personal data must also have a lawful basis under applicable data-protection law.
Where consent is required, it must be freely given, specific, informed and indicated by an affirmative choice. Optional categories remain disabled until you choose them, and refusing optional technologies does not prevent access to the public website.
- Strictly necessary storage is used without optional consent only for essential operation or a preference you explicitly request.
- Analytics, functional and marketing technologies require the applicable permission before activation.
- Withdrawing consent is as easy as granting it and does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

The table below describes persistent browser storage implemented in the current website version. It is reviewed whenever a tag, embedded service, analytics tool or hosting configuration changes.

No optional analytics, advertising or cross-context tracking provider is enabled in the current website version. Selecting an optional category records your preference but does not, by itself, activate an undeclared provider.
Technology categories
The preference center groups technologies by purpose. A technology may be placed in only the category that best reflects its actual function.
- Strictly necessary: security, network delivery, consent storage and preferences explicitly requested by you.
- Functional: optional interface personalization or enhanced features that are not essential.
- Analytics: audience measurement, diagnostics and aggregate performance analysis.
- Marketing: campaign attribution, advertising measurement or content personalization across contexts.
Your choices and withdrawal
On your first visit, you may accept all optional categories, reject them with Essential only, or make a granular selection. No optional toggle is pre-enabled. Your selection is stored for 180 days, after which the site asks again.
You can withdraw or change your selection at any time through Cookie preferences in the footer. A new choice applies prospectively. If a future third-party technology creates its own identifier, the implementation must also remove or disable it where technically possible when consent is withdrawn.
- Accept all enables every listed optional category.
- Essential only keeps every optional category disabled.
- Save preferences applies the individual choices displayed in the preference center.
Third-party services and embeds
Third-party video, analytics, support, social or campaign tools can cause another organization to receive device and usage data. Before any optional provider is introduced, this inventory must identify that provider, each identifier, its purpose, retention and an applicable privacy notice.
Optional third-party scripts must be technically blocked until the required choice exists. A contractual promise or policy statement alone is not a substitute for prior blocking.
Following an external link is a direct interaction with that third party. Its own cookie and privacy terms then apply.
Browser and device controls
Most browsers allow you to inspect, block and delete cookies or site data. Blocking all storage can prevent consent and accessibility choices from being remembered and may affect secure or authenticated services outside this public website.
- Review the privacy or site-data settings in each browser and device you use.
- Private browsing may clear local choices at the end of a session.
- Deleting site data also deletes the stored record of your cookie selection, so the preference panel may reappear.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
This website build does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or enable optional marketing technology. A Global Privacy Control signal therefore does not change its current behavior. If future technology creates an activity subject to an opt-out signal, the site must recognize and honor that signal where applicable law requires it.
Browsers may also send a Do Not Track signal. Because there is no consistent legal or technical standard for that signal, we describe actual practices and provide the granular controls above.
Retention and proof of choice
The consent preference record is kept in your browser for 180 days and includes the selection, version, save date and expiry date. This website does not send that local record to a consent database in the current build.
If server-side consent evidence or a consent-management provider is later used, its retention must be limited to what is necessary to demonstrate compliance and documented in this Policy and the Privacy Policy.
- Expired or invalid preference records are deleted and the choice panel is displayed again.
- The motion preference remains until you change it or clear site data because it records an accessibility request rather than optional tracking.
International processing
A technology provider may process technical data in a country different from yours. Where personal data is transferred from the EEA, UK or Switzerland to a country without an applicable adequacy decision, the responsible entity should use an approved safeguard, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and any required UK addendum, together with supplementary measures where appropriate.

Updates, questions and references
We may update this Policy when the website, technology inventory or applicable law changes. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date and, where appropriate, a renewed choice. Questions or accessibility requests may be sent to privacy@bitgowallet.com.
